01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Gerai Seri Mawar, nestled in the heart of Kampung Baru B, Taman Seri Selat, is a charming local restaurant that carries the spirit of authentic Malaysian comfort food. Specializing in traditional Malay breakfasts and snacks, this humble eatery invites you to indulge in a diverse spread of approximately 78 types of kuih alongside other beloved dishes that keep locals coming back for more.

The menu truly shines with staples like roti canai kosong — delicate, flaky, and perfectly crispy on the edges, melting in your mouth with every bite. Complement this with their rich and frothy teh tarik, a masterpiece of creamy sweetness balanced by the slight bitterness of strong tea, creating a harmonious dance of flavors. Regular patrons also rave about the mee rebus, a savory noodle soup with a robust, slightly sweet gravy that warms the soul, especially during breakfast hours.

Beyond the classics, you’ll find comforting plates of nasi lemak, fragrant coconut rice served with spicy sambal and crispy anchovies, and a variety of bihun and mee goreng options, each dish lovingly prepared to deliver homely satisfaction. The sheer variety of kuih adds a playful sugary and textured contrast, perfect for those with a sweet tooth looking to sample authentic Malay desserts.

The atmosphere at Gerai Seri Mawar is invitingly simple — the kind of place where locals gather in the morning light, sharing stories over flavorful food. Though modest in size, the seating arrangements are thoughtfully planned to comfortably accommodate visitors without feeling cramped. Service here is quick and friendly, reflecting a genuine warmth that makes every visit feel personal.

Customers appreciate not just the food, but the attentive staff and efficient service, making ordering a breeze even during busy hours. While some have noted that the physical condition of the restaurant could benefit from improvement, the overall experience remains highly satisfying thanks to the quality and authenticity of the dishes served.

Whether you're a seasoned local craving familiar flavors or a visitor eager to taste genuine Malaysian street food culture, Gerai Seri Mawar delivers on taste and tradition. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a comforting embrace of Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage, served with a smile.

Roti canai kosong dia sedap. Teh tarik pun sedap. Dgr khabar mee rebus (utk breakfast) pun sedap tp x try lg ada lebih kurang 7-8 jenis kuih utk dipilih. Servis ok, bilangan meja pun cukup utk tmpung pengunjung. Brgkali kondisi kedai perlu sedikit improvement. Keep it up

The best roti canai in Hulu Bernam and Tg. Malim combined. Love it when made 'kuah and sambal banjir'. Its mi rebus is very good too. Not a fan of its nasi lemak though. The service can be very slow during peak days and hours. Better make orders hours in advance. The atmosphere can be uncomfortable too as it is close to the main road. Parking can be quite tricky.
